For Rubicon Holding, social responsibility is an integral part of its operations. We firmly believe that creating new opportunities for veterans is an investment in Ukraine’s future. That is why our holding company has become an active participant in the international SAFER Reconstruction initiative, which is being implemented with the support of the Swedish Institute.

New career prospects for veterans

The SAFER Reconstruction programme aims to train Ukrainian veterans to work as health, safety and environment (HSE) coordinators in the construction industry. Such specialists play a key role in organising safe workplaces on construction sites, minimising risks and ensuring compliance with high environmental standards.

Over the course of eight weeks, two programme participants underwent intensive practical training at Rubicon Holding sites:

• Vitaliy Volkov gained professional experience at the ‘Kovalivskyi’ residential complex construction site in Kropyvnytskyi;
• Oleksii Rybalko worked at the ‘Novi Teremky’ residential complex site in the village of Novosilky, near Kyiv.

Practical experience and responsibility

During the work placement, the veterans gained an in-depth understanding of all the processes involved in organising work on a modern construction site. The training programme covered risk identification and assessment, working with HSE documentation, the use of checklists and risk matrices, as well as the analysis of environmental aspects of construction.

Following the internship, a video conference was held where participants presented their final case studies, demonstrating a high level of preparation and a deep understanding of safety standards.
